LANI MISALUCHA
Lani can easily shift from ballad to pop rock and even jazz. She may even surprise you with a sudden burst of operatic aria in a sweet soprano voice. Recording multiplex tapes of the songs of great singers, she can, with alacrity, imitate the vocal stylings of, among others, Toni Braxton, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, and even Barbara Streisand. Lani has been in and out of the music scene since the late 1980s as a vocalist in various bands, a soloist on the lounge and nightclub circuits, a singer of commercial jingles and multiplex tapes. It is amazing to note that although she stopped singing professionally for expansive periods at a time, opportunities have never ceased to come knocking at her door. It seems that music is her destiny. In 1996, she recorded an album with the carriage single, “somebody Warm Like Me”, which became an instant hit. Moving to Viva Records in 1999, she did the album “Tunay Na Mahal” with the carrier single of the same title and hit song, “You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me”. While playing the lead role in S.K. Productions mega-musical, “Rama at Sita”, she received accolades for her singing and acting prowess.
The year 2001 was a very blessed year for Lani. She became a semi-regular host on the Philippines’ Sunday noontime music/variety show, SOP, along with top artists, Ogie Alcasid, Regine Velasquez, Janno Gibbs, and Jaya. In September, she had her first major concert at the Araneta Coliseum called “Lani Misalucha, The Crossover Live Tour”. It was a highly successful concert, the venue of which Lani filled to the rafters, earning her more praises from fans and critics alike. The following year, Lani continued to wow audiences with her breathtaking performances in her US Concert Tour and series of concerts at Onstage in Greenbelt. Lani released her fourth studio album entitled, “Loving You” in June 2003 with the singles, “Tila” and “Malaya Ka Na”. In November of that same year, she began hosting her own television show entitled, “Celerity Turns”, with actor and comedian, Michael V. aka Junie Lee. Lani was also the preferred choice of foreign artists who have come to Manila to perform. She was the special guest star for music industry icons Kenny Loggins, Brian McKnight, Sergio Mendes and Stephen Bishop. She continues to perform to SRO audiences wherever she goes, may it be hotels, schools, concerts halls and more. Lani sought and conquered the hearts of those in the United States too, performing in Reno, San Diego, Washington, Las Vegas, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Mayor Willie L. Brown, Jr. of San Francisco event made August 17th “Lani Misalucha Day” to give due recognition to her talent as an artist.
As Las Vegas’ new Diva and Siren of the Strip, Lani has proven her status as a top international artist. A successful 15-month run at Bally’s and a series of road tours to varied states has permanently etched Lani’s names into the hearts of those who she has captured with her musical eloquence. She will enchant once again at the Shimmer Showroom inside the Las Vegas Hilton in her new show entitled “VOICES”, a true vocal explosion of energy. It is not just the beauty and power of Lani’s music that has flew and blew her across the globe, performing in Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan and the Middle East, performing for the King of Malaysia, the Sultan of Brunei, President Nathan of Singapore and Presidents Joseph Estrada and Gloria Macapagal Arroyo of the Philippines, but it will always be the beauty of Lani’s persona that will transcend through every song, heartfelt and genuine in its delivery of all the best that it has to offer, all the best that is yet to come. Come, see Lani in Las Vegas nightly at 8:00pm inside the Shimmer Showroom at the Las Vegas Hilton and be enchanted, she is sure to steal your heart.
